A sad first

Today was a sad day for me. I did not go through the bed time routine with my daughter. She was actually asleep when I got home from work around 9pm. It was an extremely long day at school. I oversee intramurals and today was the 1st day to play. I thought I was going to make it home for a little bit since the alternative program goes home at 6 but I had a situation to deal with that kept me at school until 6:50pm. I had just enough time to drive around to get to intramurals at 7pm. Gabbi stayed with her dad tonight and I am sure he loved all the time he spent with her, I actually cried as I looked at her sleeping. Overwhelmed with just missing my daughter. Today there was something very very wrong with me only seeing her awake for an hour.

She's a Walker!

Today, Gabbie became an official walker. She had been taking steps here and there. And this weekend I noticed she was getting further and further along before she actually fell. So, today she was walking all over the place. She still falls but she gets right back up and starts walking again. Wow, my little girl is a walker... it happened so fast. It is an amazing feeling watching her learn all these new things. Being a mom is truly a blessing and I am so so thankful for my daughter.

Happy 10 month B-Day

Gabbi turned 10 months today. She is standing up on her own and taking 8-10 steps before she falls. It won't be long before she is walking everywhere. We were downstairs doing some things and before I knew it she was climbing back up the stairs. It is amazing how quick she can move around. She definetely keeps me on my toes. Thankfully, I am off tomorrow so we get to hang out an extra day before I go back to work.

Colts Saturday

I will be the first to admit I am not a Colts fan. Although I have lived in Indianapolis for 12 years, I am a Dallas Cowboy fan, no matter what. But, it seems Gabbi is being molded to be a Colts fan. Her sitter sent out this picture. Gabbi's sitter is also a photographer so I am lucky to get all these cute pictures.

Gabbi's hair is growing so fast. We can now do pig tails. Also, this week Gabbi's Uncle Tyler taught her how to high five. Oh the little things we get excited about:)

wanna play?

Gabbi has gotten right back into the swing of things at daycare. Since she is trying to walk, she is moving and playing around with the big toys at daycare.

Toy heist

When we arrived back on Friday night, Gabbi woke up and it was as if she realized and knew she was home, her own room, her own stuff. We have 2 cats, Anthony and Sam, and Sam has always been openly affectionate towards Gabbi but Anthony has not been so friendly. He always runs off if she gets in his personal space. But this night, Anthony and Sam went into her room and found Gabbi on the floor playing. Anthony actually went up to her and she gave him a big hug! Then Sam followed suit, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was a very sweet moment. She was just as glad to see them as they were to see her.
I had to bring an extra suitcase home because Gabbi received lots of toys and clothes. Before I went to bed on Friday night, I unloaded the suitcase and Gabbi's toys were on the floor in the hallway. She got a red train from her Aunt Lori that has 3 balls that the train spins around. Well, it seems the cats scoped out the toys while we were sleeping. Two of the three balls from the train toy are now missing. It looks like Anthony and Sam decided they liked her toys too.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! It has been awhile since I have posted and much has gone on. We headed to Texas on the 21st, Gabbi's first plane ride and she did awesome!! There were no shortage of hands to hold her while we were there. She really enjoyed meeting everyone. Christmas was spent in Seagraves Texas, population 2300, yes 2300. The town still doesn't have a stop light! This was also Gabbi's dad first time to Seagraves and I believe he was culturally shocked. Small town america really does exist and he learned first hand what that means. He had an allergic reaction to something he ate and we had to go to the next town to the emergency room. Now it was only 15 minutes away but the thought that there was no doctor in town, baffled him....
On the 26th, Gabbi was baptized and many of my family members were able to attend the ceremony. It was really special to all of us.Gabbi was baptized in the same church I was a loooooonnnnng time ago:)
We headed back on the 31st and this was the worst part of the trip. We arrived in Lubbock at 9:30am ready to leave at 10:10am but weather for American Airlines ( all the other airlines were flying in and out!) caused my flight to be cancelled....so we waited.....and waited, 12oclock, 2 oclock, 4 oclock. Finally after 8 1/2 hours at the airport we headed to Dallas at 6pm! We had another hour wait in Dallas then we finally landed in indy at 11:30 pm!! Gabbi was a real trooper. She didnt complain a bit. I was just glad to be home safely. So today we have spent getting Christmas things put away and resting. The next few days should be fun getting her back into her routine of going to bed at 8:30; I can hardly wait!!
(pictures above are of Gabbi and her great grandmother (my mom's mom), picture 2 is our christening family photo and picture 3 is Gabbi first thing on new years day..gotta love that hair:))
