My Sister & BFF

My maid of honor was my best friend Keshia. She and I have known each other since 1994. She was finishing up at Spelman and I had just moved to Atlanta for a new job. We became fast friends and 18 years later we are each other's keeper. We have shared the highs, lows and everything in between and I can't imagine her not being in my life. She has been there for painful deaths, celebration of the birth of my children and now my wedding. She is truly my sister and I love her dearly!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day! The day after our wedding we celebrate the men and dad's in our lives. Although our grandfather's were not physically with us yesterday, they were definitely there in our wedding.
I had long dreaded yesterday not because I didnt want to get married but because the thought of not having my grandpa walk me down the aisle was too painful to think of. I must admit I shed plenty of tears before the ceremony but my family was full of special surprises. My grandmother presented me with one of my grandfather's medallions and I was able to wear it in side of my dress right next to my heart. And of course Richard, sent me a beautiful bracelet that had my grandfather's name on it and I was able to wear it during the ceremony. I was definitely overwhelmed with emotion but totally at peace with his presence. He was truly there celebrating in this wonderful blessing. So today I honor my husband and all the wonderful men in my life; thank you for simply being you!

What a Time

Well it's the night before the wedding and it has been such a busy week. I have thoroughly enjoyed having my family and friends here as well as sharing in all the fabulous activities the last couple of days. The luncheon was so special. I got to spend a couple of hours with a wonderful group of women and 2 little girls that I love very much. Today, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner was fun. So here we are the night before...My last official night as Maggie Hernandez...
I look forward to tomorrow and the journey ahead
