After a long day
After a long day at work, everything melts away when Gabbie says....."Mommie I missed you!" Now that totally makes my day.

Happy 23 months!
Gabbie turned 23 months today....wow, time has gone so fast. We are a month away from her 2nd birthday....plans are in the making and we are very excited to have the opportunity to have family and friends celebrate her day.
It seems that every day she is doing or saying something new; this afternoon on our way home, she was singing along with the spanish nursery rhyme CD that we were listening to; she may not understand the words but she sure was having fun singing along; and she was in tune:)

What a week!
It has been a very interesting week, and I am currently contemplating whether I want to stay in education. After 13 years, I wonder if there is something else I should be doing. Hopefully the good Lord will give me an answer. All is well with Gabbie....she is just talking, singing and loving life.

We Did It....lo hicimos!

Today was the big day.....Dora and Diego arrived at The Children's Museum. As we pulled up to the museum Gabbie noticed the big Dora and Diego sign and was so excited. Upon entering, they hung pictures of the various characters in the Dora show and Gabbie knew them all....hilarious!
It was very busy with families all eager to see Dora and Diego and get their pictures taken. We have to give a special recognition to Gabbie's dad for waiting in line for 40 minutes to get that great picture. It was interesting because Gabbie really did not want to touch Dora and Diego; she was content to wave from a distance...LOL! I am sure Gabbie's dad was thinking "Ive waited in line for 40 minutes, you're going to take this picture, lol"
While Gabbie's dad waited in line, Gabbie and I entered into the exhibit where she got on the Pirate Pig Ship, worked on animals in the Animal Rescue Center, picked flowers in Iza's garden, gathered some nuts in Tico's playground and much much more. She had an awesome time exploring and playing. After 3 hours at the museum, we were all tired but glad we made the visit. Above are some pictures from our day.

Making the Most of It
Since we were out for a third day, I went into work for a bit. Then I was able to get my Saturday errands taken care of today. I also rescheduled my eye dr's appt so I wouldn't have to leave work early tomorrow. All this will help our Saturday schedule. We are all very excited because Saturday is Dora and Diego's first day at the Children's Museum. Members get to meet them early so I am sure Aniyah is going to be so excited.
After 3 days I am ready to get back to work and see students. Although the side streets and subdivision are still a mess, I think we will be on a regular schedule tomorrow. We will see.....

Day 3
Its official we are out of school for the 3rd day. The ice is leaving the neighborhood streets too dangerous for busses to pick up students. I am so ready to go back to work. BUT, I am very glad to be spending this quality time with Gabbie. There's never a dull moment when she's around:)

OH This Indiana Weather!

Well the weather is just well crappy! The kids were not in school today due to ice.....yes, ice! I would much rather have snow. Because I am an administrator I had to make it into work today; not happy about that! Nonetheless I made it in and got some things accomplished. It was an interesting drive. We are preparing for round two later this evening and we are hoping that we don't lose power. Waiting to hear if we are out of school tomorrow. It is unlikely we will go and I am not complaining.
Here is our deck door.....yes that is ice, ugh!
