Swimming lessons begin

On Saturday morning we headed off to our 1st swimming lesson. I was a nervous wreck even though I wasnt even getting in the water. Gabbie's dad would be the bad guy :) She had on a cute little two piece but of course I forgot the camera and the video camera! She loved the class; they started by getting used to being in the water with splashing and moving around, with a parent of course. Then they are trying to teach the kids to blow bubbles in the water so they won't swollow the water. Gabbie hasn't gotten that concept yet. Even though she thought it was hilarious to see her dad blowing bubbles in the water. The 30 minutes flew by and she didnt want to get out. I look forward to next week. I am actually going to get in the water with her next week so I am very excited.

1st Timeout Experience

Now that Gabbie is 1, she can be placed in timeout for a minute or two if she is misbehaving.Well she has had her 1st experience and she was so so pathetically sad. Look at that face!

Tough Week

This week was a pretty tough week at school; some of my alternative students deal with some pretty serious issues. And I can't help but wonder and fear that one day Gabbi could have her own serious issues. I feel a great deal of guilt because frankly I spend more time with other people's children than my own. My fear is that my time away from my daughter will result in much bigger consequences later. If I had my choice I would be home with her and there was a time when I never thought I would want to do that. Such is life and I try to deal with my internal junk daily. On Mondays I can't wait for Fridays because that is my shortest work day of the week....what a way to look at my weekdays. maybe one day things will be different.....I think I should start buying lottery tickets,......you never know:)

Special Cousins

This week Gabbie and her cousin had their pictures taken. They came out really cute. Very special young ladies they are.

Happy Easter Everyone

Daycare Easter Party

Gabbie has been on spring break with me this week so she has not gone to daycare, but today she went to her Easter party. She had her 1st egg hunt. She seemed to get the concept. Gabbie always has a good time with her daycare friends. And of course, it was so not fun leaving!

1st Park Visit

On Wednesday, Gabbie and I went to the park; our 1st visit - how exciting. Although she wasn't into the play gyms, she was fascinated with the new surroundings, leaves - grass, trees. It was fun watching her investigate her world. Although it was not fun, getting her in the car to leave:)
