Easter Bunny Disaster

We headed off to the mall this morning to take our picture with the Easter bunny. Little did I know that Gabs would think that the Easter bunny was a monster. She wanted nothing to do with him. After it was over, she was so glad to be away from the bunny. She was quite happy to be in the car headed home:)

St Patrick Day update

Birthday update

wow what a week it has been. My family was in last weekend and I have been trying to catch up ever since. My mom, grandmother, sister, 2 nephews and 3 cousins and their families and best friend came in to celebrate Gabbi's 1st birthday. Whew! it was very tiring but so much fun. Gabbi truly enjoyed her 1st taste of cake.

Birthday!

Gabbie had a great day today. Her birthday party - St. Patrick's Day party at daycare went very well. She also got to hang out with her grandparents and cousins and the party was non stop. She was quite tired from all the action. Saturday should be interesting with her family here from Texas to celebrate her big day. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Happy 1st Birthday Gabbie!

Wow a year has passed and Gabbi turns one today; it's gone sooo quickly! She will have a small birthday party at daycare today so she should have a pretty good day. What an interesting year it has been and I can't imagine my life without her:)

Who follows directions?

Well it seems Gabbie doesn't like following directions. The sitter had to share this picture where, of course, my daughter, doesn't seem to care about following directions. Darn that smile..:)

Twitter anyone

I have to admit I am on twitter....i first signed up in the fall and just recently went back to tweeting. Not that I have that much time to throw some messages on there but im trying to keep it going. It also allows me to keep up with people I really care about but dont' keep in touch with as much.....life happens but you dont stop loving or missing them....technology, it has come a long way from that jinormous computer I used to learn computer basics in high school:)

I am thankful for the reminder

Today I was fortunate enough to experience a wonderful motivational speaker Manual Scott. If you have ever seen the movie Freedom Writers, he is the student who sat in the back of the room who was homeless. Today, he has since earned his bachelors, masters and working on his PH.D. He was also ordained as a minister. He spent some time with my students who are in the alternative program and it was pretty powerful stuff. He cried, the students cried, i cried. I was reminded that even though my days are long, my service to these kids is worth it. They do matter....they are worthy of love, trust, hope and success. If you get a chance please visit his website and pull up a video or visit his blog. He truly is a living example of why I and so many others get into teaching. one person can make a difference and change a child's life for ever.
