Art 101
On Saturday's I generally run errands and Gabbie stays with her dad. Upon my arrival home, I found a house full of wonderful "color" masterpieces, on the living room walls, the stairs, the bathroom door, the bathroom wall, on the kitchen floor. It seems Gabbie took it upon herself to decorate our house with her crayons.....oh joy! Bless her little heart; she was totally oblivious to how much work was put into cleaning up her artwork. She enjoyed lunch and we cleaned. We were very glad she didn't find the markers!

It's What?
I have lived in Indiana 13 years and every winter I whine and complain about the weather. But this morning was awful! We were on a two hour delay but it was still 1 degrees, yes thats right 1! and it felt like 10 below when you factor in the wind chill. The entire time I was outside, I kept asking, "Why does a girl from the South, live in Indiana?" Oh boy, but it will be a heat way tomorrow. We will make it into the 20's. I can't wait!!

Celebrating 22months at the Children's Museum

checking out the dinosaurs
In honor of MLK, we were off from school and we headed to our first visit to the Children's Museum. I figured since Gabbie turned 22 months today, she would be very excited to go and celebrate. On the positive note, she absolutely loved the dinosaurs. However we did not stay long; it was packed with people....it was free admittance today:)
We will go back next month when Dora arrives; I can only imagine how excited she will be to see Dora and Diego.

My Favorite Part of the Day
Each day I am thankful for it of course but I must admit that my favorite part of the day is at 8:15pm every night. After Gabbie's bath, we head to her room and she picks out a book to read. I have long been a lover of books and that has rubbed off on my daughter by the large selection of books she already has....her mom just pushed that one on her...I truly hope it sticks. Nonetheless, she picks out her book and we sit in the rocking chair and I read it aloud to her. She listens intently and occasionally if it is a Dora book, she reads along. After a busy day, hanging out and reading with my daughter is an awesome reminder that the best things in life are truly free. My time with her is absolutely priceless!

Wait Your Turn Mommie
I guess I should stop being shocked by some of the things my daughter says but she's not even 2 yet. The latest incident involved our computer. Gabbie has long seen me on the computer so she likes to try to use the computer too. I happened to be on the computer and walked away; while gone, Gabbie sat in the chair and began punching the keys. As I approached her, I asked her to get down. She politely responded, "Wait your turn Mommie!" Really! My daughter just asked me to wait my turn.....LOL!
